In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top 5 tools apps in Africa displayed diverse performance metrics in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals intriguing trends for these popular applications.

NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy experienced fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $7.1K in the week of November 29. Weekly downloads saw a decline from 19.4K to around 14.7K by the end of December. Meanwhile, weekly active users remained relatively stable, ranging between 186K and 199K throughout the quarter.

LastSeen showed a significant increase in weekly revenue, reaching nearly $4.9K in the final week of December. Weekly downloads spiked dramatically to 125.9K in the week of December 20, before dropping to 70.9K by the last week of the year. Active users also saw a notable rise, peaking at 137.2K in the same week.

AVG AntiVirus & Security maintained a steady weekly revenue, with a peak of approximately $1.3K in the final week of December. Weekly downloads fluctuated, hitting a high of 21.9K in early October and settling at around 14.5K by the end of the quarter.
